Join Osprey Flight Solutions’ Analysis Output Manager as she presents at DISPAX World 2023. DISPAX World (Disruptive Passengers) is holding their 4th international conference on ‘Unruly Airline Passenger Management & Restraint’.
Alexandra James will be discussing a relatively new type of aviation security phenomenon called “avion patera”, in which groups of passengers manufacture disruptive situations on board commercial flights in order to force diversions in an attempt to enter the EU illegally. Upon landing, the passengers attempt to force their way off the aircraft and then flee the airport. While none of the cases documented so far have involved violence, this is a major concern, and these incidents therefore pose a very real threat to crew and other passengers.
